Roles and Responsibilities:

- Qualified candidates shall administer Microsoft operating systems running on multiple domains utilizing ITIL n-tier software maturity model

- Installation of operating systems (OS), patches, bug fixes and advisories

- Configure the OS and server to conform to current security policy and procedures

- Installation and Configuration of VMware ESXi hosts and vCenter operating environments

- Monitor and report unauthorized access attempts

- Provide user account and group management as required for systems to include add/disable/delete user and group accounts, passwords, change permissions and access control

- Execute startups and shutdowns of each system and domain

- Install, modify and maintain systems and utility software on server computer systems

- Provide server support related to other software

- Provide Active Server Pages (ASP), Microsoft ASP.NET Framework, Visual Studio (VS), C++, C Sharp, Java Server Pages (JSP), and Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) web application support to include configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting

- Manage Public Key Infrastructure digital certificates for new and existing operating system and web applications

- Provide technical and system administration support for Web applications using Microsoft Internet Information Systems (IIS) and Apache Tomcat for all AFPOA Network Enterprise systems

- Maintain and troubleshoot the operation and performance of web applications and associated web application resources through IIS Manager and available tools

- Monitor and apply all necessary OS security patches

- Update, annotate, track and modify all trouble ticket application tickets submitted for Windows Operations Support

- Install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot disk space and file system usage

- Configure and troubleshoot high-availability hardware and software solutions

- Create, monitor, and manage logical volume and mirror disk features

- Monitor and manage system resources, provide system performance tuning to system function and reliability

- Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources

- Perform system backups and recoveries

- Develops procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse

- Maintain an inventory of system level hardware and software configurations

- Initiate, review, update, and respond to trouble tickets

- Document all system downtime, hardware failures, etc.

- Develops procedures, programs and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications

- Monitor and manage audit logs

- Monitoring of hardware error messages and taking appropriate action

- Problem determination and troubleshooting, as required

- Develops tools, procedures, and training sessions for Operations, Client Support and Systems Development staff to assist with workload distribution

- Develops and coordinates project directions and schedules to maximize benefits and minimize impacts on the customer organizations

- Assists leadership in planning and implementation of projects for computer operations and enterprise systems administration

- Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department

- Comply with IAW DoD Directive 8570.1M

- Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways for AFPOA to take advantage of new technology

- Required to provide onsite support at JBSA-Randolph AFB and remote support to undisclosed locations, while still maintaining system stability

- Travel may be required on a non-recurring basis to undisclosed Continental United States (CONUS) locations - less than 5%

- Normal duty hours are 0730-1630 Central Standard Time (CST), Monday through Friday. On-call support after duty hours to include evenings, weekends and on holidays, is occasionally required.

Required Qualifications:

- Minimum 5+ years managing Windows Servers in a data center environment

- Advanced experience in Active Directory Domain Services

- Advanced knowledge of enterprise data center and computer host systems including hardware, software and equipment such as air-conditioning, UPS (uninterrupted power supply) and fire protection systems

- Experience with Microsoft Management Console, Ivanti Patching for Windows Servers, ERDisk, Hewlett Package Open View, Service Now Incidence Management, HP Systems Insight Management, and Veritas Storage Foundations

- Ability to diagnose Windows-based software and hardware failures to resolution, provide full documentation of corrective actions applied and recommend and implement solutions to prevent recurrence

- Working knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, Horizon, vRealize, and ESXi hosts

- Experience with McAfee Antivirus and HBSS suites tools, Air Force PKI, SSL Certificates, and various server imaging tools

- Must be able to ensure all Windows servers maintain adequate security status and compliance with IAW Air Force MANUAL 17-1301, Cyberspace Computer Security (COMPUSEC), Air Force Network Operating Instructions, AFNOSC cyber orders to include TCNO/CTO/NTO/IAVMs, and AFPOA direction

- US Citizen with a minimum of an active DOD SECRET security clearance

- IAT Level II Certification: Security +

- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

- Minimum 7+ years managing Windows Servers in a data center environment or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering or related field with a minimum of 4 years work experience.

- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert Certification

- ITIL v3 certification

- Hewlett Packard Rack or C7000 Enclosure/Blade Server hardware certification

- VCP-DCV 6.0 certification or higher

- VCP-DTM 6.0 Certification or higher

- COMPUSEC and IA background - Expert level knowledge of TCNO/CTO/NTO/IAVMs/STIGs/SCAP Tools, Nessus and ACAS scan results, vulnerability management and mitigation, DIACAP/RMF/ATO/POAM Procedures
