Senior Electrical Systems Engineer
As a Key Contributor You Will

Key Responsibilities and Activities

* Develop electrical power distribution, communication and control systems at the architectural and schematic level that meet automotive and light sport aircraft standards and regulations
* Architect distributed embedded systems composed of multiple electronic control units, avionics units, human-machine interface (HMI) modules communicating through CAN and other serial protocols; build and integrate prototype systems, and gather and analyze performance data
* Specify, identify, integrate and verify Commercial/Modified-Off-the-Shelf (COTS/MOTS) electronic subsystems for inclusion in the vehicle electronic system
* Assist in the definition and design and sourcing of vehicle cable & harness systems
* Design automotive compliant circuits, composed of analog, digital, and microcontroller components
* Lead or assist in the definition and development of system level state machines to guide detailed development of system software (e.G. MathWorks Stateflow)
* Write and maintain electrical systems requirements documents
* Write, maintain and execute or oversee test plans and design verification reports
* Provide guidance to other electrical engineers and technicians; plan, estimate, and sequence work using project planning software
* Prepare and release electrical design and fabrication documentation to assist with transfer into Manufacturing. Provide assistance/training/support as necessary to Manufacturing/Operations personnel

Required Skills and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
* 10+ years of relevant systems level electrical development experience with a demonstrated history of successfully transitioning products into manufacturing
* Analog & digital circuit design and schematic capture. Circuit design including CAN networks, I/O protection, sensors, signal conditioning, A/D conversion and battery management. Experience with Altium Designer preferred
* Experience integrating and debugging systems containing COTS modules, custom circuits, software, sensors, and HMI GUIs
* Experience with system electrical and PCB design for EMC compliance. Experience with EMC testing and remediation of EMC non-compliance
* Familiarity using lab test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, current probes, data acquisition, and CAN bus analyzers
* Experience with component specification, supplier interaction, and procurement processes
* Wire harness design and connector component selection and sourcing
* Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Skills and Experience

* The ideal candidate would have broad based electrical engineering skills with significant experience developing electrical systems for automotive, aeronautics, or industrial robotics systems
* Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
* Familiarity with the use of Matlab, Simulink and Stateflow for systems level electrical architecture design
* Familiarity or experience working with and around high voltage hybrid drive propulsion systems
* Automotive/aeronautics wire harness design experience, SolidWorks Electrical experience a plus
* Familiarity or experience using Automated Code Generation, e.G. Simulink Coder, a plus
* Familiarity or experience with embedded programming of microcontrollers using C/C++ & CPLD/FPGA design using HDLs a plus.
* DFMEA and/or Fault Tree Analysis
