Linux/Unix Systems AdministratorHours of Operation: First Shift with On-call rotation Job Responsibilities: Perform system administration of UNIX (HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris) servers globally. Install/cable/Maintain/repair UNIX server and related system issues as needed to maintain a stable, predictable, and scalable server environment. Working with vendors and internal groups, enhance and patch server systems. Lead and assist in system projects.Requirements: 5+ years' experience requiredTechnical support skills; Troubleshooting and problem solving skills. High level of expertise in two or more UNIX operating systems (HP-UX, Linux, Solaris), TCP/IP Networking, and Perl or shell scripting required. Must have good oral and written communication skills and be able to discuss technical issues with users, vendors and customers having diverse technical and business backgrounds. Familiarity with SSH and command-line administration of systems, including via console, required. Minimum of 3 years HP-UX, Linux, or Solaris system administration experience, including virtualization experience. Experience with clustering technologies (Veritas or HP ServiceGuard), logical volume management (VFS, LVM, or ZFS), and enterprise patching solutions required. Experience with EMC Networker, Avamar, or HP Data Protector required. Experience in an environment with rigorous change control processes required. SAN or NAS administration experience desired. On-call Requirements: Off-hours support required only for critical situations, as required by the CUSTOMER Primary Contact Ability to respond to incidents M-F, 4: 30 pm ET - 9: 00 pm ET and weekends, 9: 00 am ET to 9: 00 pm ET on a rotational as-needed basis. Travel Requirements: Work may include travel to specified CUSTOMER plant and office locations.
