Location: Washington, DC Job Description: We are seeking an Information Security Engineer to join our dynamic team of qualified, diverse individuals to support our federal government client. The ideal candidate is a team-player, self-starter, self-learner, works well with change, with experience in full software development lifecycle and environments. Duties: Manages the security aspects of the information system and is responsible for the day-to-day security operation of the system. Analyzes and defines security requirements for application or system issues. Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions to application security requirements as part of software development and engineering process. Gathers and organizes technical information about an agency's mission goals and needs, existing security products, and ongoing programs. Performs risk analyses, which also include risk assessment. Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions for projects that involve secure remote access, VPN, Intrusion detection, port scanning, web security and vulnerability assessments and remediation. Analyzes and defines security requirements for information protection. Defines and develops security policies. Analyzes the sensitivity of information, performs vulnerability and risk assessments on the basis of defined sensitivity and information flow. Monitor and coordinate all data system operations, including security procedures, and liaison with the customer. Monitor and comply with federal government agency privacy and cybersecurity policies and guidance including FISMA as well as data security requirements. Perform secure software code reviews that adheres to security engineering specification such as NIST SP 800-60. Experience performing cybersecurity engineering tasks in a cloud environment is a plus. Possessing one of the following security certifications is a plus: A+, Network+, SSCP, GSEC, Security+, SCNP, CISSP, GSE, CISA, SCNA. Familiar with agile, DevOps, and/or DevSecOps software development methodology. General Experience: This position requires a minimum of six (6) years of experience in the related duties described above. Education: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
