To prepare engineered design documents for the mechanical systems installed by the company that ensure code compliance and safety to the general public and provide guidance for mechanical installations.  To provide engineering support to other groups throughout the company as needed.

This individual will be overseeing all Mechanical aspects of projects. 
  • Develop system design solutions for customers
    • Prepare anticipated budget
    • Specify equipment to be used
    • Develop construction documents for installation
    • Support the installation process
  • Perform full design of mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems and prepare construction drawings and specifications as Licensed Engineer of Record
    • Make sketches and rough layouts, record data, make computations, assess results, and prepare reports
    • Analyze engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors, such as size, shape, and arrangement of items
  • Act as the technical authority to consistently move projects toward successful completion and leading internal teams
  • Assist internal sales and vertical market teams in preparing proposals for design and construction of projects by various support functions

  • Perform evaluations of facility mechanical systems
    • Evaluate systems for proper performance, code compliance, energy efficiency, and feasibility of proposed modifications

  • Conduct site visits to review mechanical work
  • Participate in project meetings/discussions/ communications
  • Collaborate with project engineers and designer/BIM Coordinators and direct their efforts as needed
  • Train and mentor less senior engineers
  • Must be able to handle stress and job demands
  • Must be able to cooperatively work with others

  • Bachelor’ s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a program accredited by ABET
  • 10 or more years experience as a project engineer
  • P.E.
  • Fundamental knowledge of applied sciences (thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid flow, physics, etc.)
  • A working familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and ability to be trained in use of the company specific applications and software
  • Experience with HVAC I Plumbing industry preferred
  • Experience with CAD and Associated Software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navis, Etc.)
  • Experience with HVAC Load and Energy Modeling Software (Trace 700, Carrier HAP, Equest, etc.)
  • Experience with Building Code Interpretation and application preferred
  • Working vocabulary of the building/construction trades
