The primary responsibility of the Payroll Support Administrator is to work with internal team members and third parties to support accurate and timely processing and payment of payroll in accordance with wage and hour laws, union agreements, and company policy.

There are multiple companies, policies,   and systems within the company' s family.  There are multiple localities and regulatory groups that require different compliance practices across the vast differences that exist within the company' s family. 

Primary duty is to resolve team member and third party questions and issues related to timekeeping and payroll related activities. The administrator will follow prescribed SOPs and utilize a case management system for all actions taken.  This will require research in multiple systems with some decision making and judgement.


A typical workday: The typical workday varies greatly.  Payroll days are very fast paced.  There are daily, weekly, monthly, and annual deadlines that must be managed to deliver accurate and timely payroll.

 Training:  There will a defined program including standard operating procedures and on the job training.

Other Expectations:
  1. Overtime:  25%
    • Must be willing to work some nights, weekends, and holidays to support client payroll processing.
  2. Travel: None                          


Must Haves: 
  • Associate' s Degree or relevant work experience
  • 2 years of payroll operational experience from a corporate, multi-state environment
  • Basic level proficiency in running queries and using reporting tools
  • Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Intermediate level proficiency state and federal wage and hour laws, general tax requirements and withholding
  • 2 years of Time and Labor systems experience
  • Intermediate level proficiency in verbal and written communication skills with proven results in problem resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment


  • Bachelor’ s Degree or equivalent work experience in Accounting, Business, Finance, Management or Human Resources

  • FPC or CPP designation

  • 5 years of payroll operational experience from a large corporate, multi-state environment.

  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • 2 years of PeopleSoft Payroll / PeopleSoft Time & Labor

  • 2 years of ADP ProBusiness experience or other ADP solution

  • 2 years’ experience working with Time and Labor systems and administration in a manufacturing environment

  • 2 years of Workforce Software experience
