Senior Network Engineer


Client is seeking a senior level network engineer with experience in design and deployment of an enterprise network architecture.  This position will work directly with the enterprise network architect as the primary technical advisor on the preparation, planning, design, implementation, integration, and operations of a fully managed global network infrastructure. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Essential Responsibilities and Functions:
  • Planning, design, implementation, integration, and operations of a fully managed global network infrastructure
  • Responsible for all aspects of the distributed WAN network including standards, design, technical integration, DR/Failover process and technology recommendations
  • Provide troubleshooting support for a complex enterprise network environment.
  • Assist in development a cloud-first strategy for application delivery
  • Collaborate cross functional teams of network and security architects, server and platform engineers, and data center operations
  • Extensive vendor management experience
  • Creation of SOP/MOP repository for day to day repeatable work
  • Responsible for all aspects of implementation and support of local area network and wireless local area network technologies at sites as assigned
  • Assist in deployment of new projects and services within the global enterprise infrastructure
  • Work cooperatively with other senior engineering resources to maintain and revise technical standards and documentation as part of a unified strategy
  • Responsible for troubleshooting issues and issue management throughout the network environment, serving as senior technical support for other members of the team and peer organizations
  • Responsible for identifying problem areas in a proactive way and developing solutions to meet the challenges in the converged network environment

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience: 8+ years supporting large enterprise network infrastructure(s)

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly proficient and have extensive experience with IPSEC, IGP, MPLS, BGP, IPVPN, DMVPN and various other related TCP/IP transport methodologies
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following Azure, Amazon Web Services, Rackspace, Openstack, datacenters, telecom circuits, or any other public or private cloud environment
  • Experience with various network management tools and underlying fundamental protocols such as:  SNMP, Netflow, Ixia, Solarwinds, Opnet, etc.
